Spent 3 days in Vegas just about to head out, Vegas is definitely a party place is was pretty amazing seeing people walking around with alcohol ,that something that doesn't happen at home. It is a nice place to visit just to see it, you really can't appreciate the place until you see it with your own eyes. Where off to Canada and _13 degrees, Sue has never seen snow!

Last day in L.A.
We went to Hollywood Blvd today and went to Madam Tussaud wax works, it was freaky how realistic they were. The other thing that surprised me was the actual physical size alot of these people are fairly small, especially the women. The exception was John Wayne he was a big dude . This is an interesting place to visit but it makes you realise how fickle Hollywood is , not my kinda thing.

State Side,
We hit L.A yesterday after a 12 hr direct flight from Brisbane, wasn't the most fun thing I have done lately. It is my wife's first time overseas and she is pretty stoked, this morning we did the tourist thing and went to the walk of fame and checked out where the Oscars are being held. Not really my thing but it is worth to see her so happy, she loves all the celebrity stuff. Having a few dramas uploading photos with my Eeepad, I will sort out eventually.

Off Tomorrow.
Well it has taken some doing but I have finally pulled a schedule together for my individual study tour. I have to say I really admire the guys who did there Nuffield scholarship before the internet, that must have been a real adventure. We have managed to get all the urgent work done farm wise which has been done in-between storms. we have had Gypsum spread on both fallow paddocks, one has had to be done conventionally due to the fact we are bringing it into our new row spacing.I will highlight the operations so you get an idea of how the new farming system compares cost wise. The old system was rotary hoed, then disced with offsets, the laser levelled, the Gypsum was spread on the whole paddock, incorporated with the offsets, cross ripped then bed formed. the other fallow block ( new system) has been sprayed out with round up and has the same amount of Gypsum spread per Ha that's it , two passes instead instead of six and most of those passes are high fuel consumption operations. Not only is the new system low impact we used 35% less gypsum but applied the same rate per Ha, this is because we only applied to the actual growing area ie ; zonal application. I will attach a photo of our EM map being done with a Vairus machine through the trash residue.
Wild Weather!!!!!
Man we had a big storm the other day it was a BEAUTY, the cloud was almost on the ground and the wind was around 110k's. It blew trees down and POWERLINES so we were without power until 3.30am . I haven't seen a storm like that since I was a kid, luckily no one lost there roof. One good thing is that the cane was not damaged and the creeks around are running, a great place to celebrate Australia day. Just got a couple of great leads for my individual study so it won't be long and I will be off for another adventure.
